WHO WE ARE: NATHAN KIRKPATRICK
We are committed to help you lead and live fully in this season -- while preparing for the next.
Nathan Kirkpatrick is one of the principal consultants of Saison Consulting, LLC.
An Episcopal priest, I served as the managing director of Alban at Duke Divinity School from 2014-2021 and as the managing director of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity from 2007-2021. Part of what I loved about these roles is that they allowed me to work with hundreds of congregations and congregational leaders – from those serving on Main Street in rural Oregon to those serving on Fifth Avenue in New York City. I also was able to facilitate strategic visioning processes for dozens of organizations.
I teach regularly in the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising offered through the Lilly Endowment-supported Lake Institute on Faith & Giving, which keeps me engaged in questions about fundraising and sustainability. I also teach and train congregational, denominational, and institutional leaders in the United States and globally on issues of change and change management, conflict and communication, innovation and sustainability, vocation and leadership.

I have contributed chapters to several edited volumes and am finalizing my first book manuscript, All Newcomers Now: A Meditation on Hospitality and Hope.
I've been fortunate to study with incredible scholars and teachers at Wake Forest University (B.A., Religious Studies, Political Science, and International Studies) and Duke University (Master of Divinity, Ethics). I also engaged in further research about religion and psychology at Durham University (Durham, UK). I am also certified in the Enneagram, a number of psychometric assessments, and in the Center for Creative Leadership’s SkillScope 360º feedback tool. I am also an Integral Associate Coach through Integral Coaching of Canada.
When not working, my passions include photography, wine, cooking, and cycling.
